Slapped by google or not?

The first site I made is now making me $75-$150 a day but just this morning I noticed some the keywords it was ranking on page 1 for it is now only ranking on pages 2-5 for...

Does this ever happen to any sites periodically for no reason at all or could my site have been hit by some type of google penalty?

I am a little worried but haven't done anything that I think would cause this to happen. The site is a blogger and is about 6 months old.

I don't think you've been slapped, its probably a quirky index fluctuating as it seems to be doing lately. I noticed the same but in reverse - I had a few sites hovering on page one but for a few weeks never got past the youtubes in position 3, let a lone the top two sites that seemed rooted to the spot.

Well, just now I checked and the top two sites have vanished and my sites have taken positions 1, 2 and 3... I think that's what Griz calls "game, set and match" in a niche!

yea, I am still getting to much traffic to have been slapped (I think so anyway).

It's just weird because I have been glued to page 1 for certain keywords for over 2 months now and today is the first time I have seen that I haven't been on page one for them. In fact 2 of these keywords I have been position 1 for awhile and now am at the bottom of page 2.

alright, sites back to normal today. Not sure what happened yesterday. Just google being weird.
