Thought I'd bring this post back from the dead cause something similar happened to a colleague of mine just the other day.
He had been selling affiliate stuff from a number of companies for a long time, then wrote an ebook of his own and started promoting it. Well to cut a long story short, he made a decent number of sales real quick with the funds going into his PayPal account. Ok, it wasn't a fortune but he made well over a thousand bucks in a couple of days. That was swiftly followed by an email from PayPal telling him his account had been suspended while they launched an investigation into possible money laundering! He could not withdraw any funds and could wait up to six months for their "investigations" to be complete.
Sometimes you're at the mercy of these large online concerns because they have your money and the onus is on you to try get it back. It stinks but then so does shit and shit happens.
One of the best ways to keep yourself out of the worst kind of danger is don't ever leave much money in any online account, be it PayPal, Neteller, 2Checkout or any of the others. That way at least if they try to screw you they don't get much of your cash while you launch a defense.
